2-Way Drive Configuration
Waydoo’s FoilBoost features a versatile 2-way drive system that supports both rear-push and front-pull propeller setups. This gives riders greater flexibility depending on their foil configuration and riding style. Proper installation is essential, and the system must be fitted using the supplied mast clamp and assembled according to Waydoo’s instructions.
432Wh Battery Capacity
FoilBoost is powered by two lithium-ion battery modules with a combined capacity of 432Wh. The setup is designed to provide reliable assisted take-offs, short powered runs, and repeated starts without the bulk of a full eFoil system, keeping the focus on lightweight foil assistance.
FEEDBACK After using the Foilboost system for two sessions , one with a bigger board 75Litre and the prop guard fitted and 1300cm front foil , and then one session pushing the envelope with a much smaller board 37Litre and 800cm2 foil and without the use of the antenna .
We achieved around 25 minutes of assisted foiling on both sessions, these sessions consisted of motoring after swells and boosting into sloping waves. We were surprised with the foil boosts system's smoothness, lack of noise ( the Motor is really quiet ) and power.
Three Power Modes
The wireless remote includes three selectable power modes: Energy Saving, Normal, and Super. Riders can gradually increase assistance based on skill level, water conditions, or discipline. The display also provides useful live data including battery status, connection strength, GPS signal, and speed.
FEEDBACK
The remote is larger than other competitors , the trigger system is also different to others . We found success using the FoilBoost in gear three , which offered the most power.
Included Charging Station
The package includes both a charger and charging station. According to Waydoo, both batteries can be charged simultaneously in approximately 150 minutes, making it practical for multiple sessions in a single day.
Adjustable Mast Clamp System
FoilBoost is designed to work with a range of foil masts using interchangeable clamp pads and different bolt lengths to accommodate varying mast chord sizes. Compatibility should still be checked carefully, as mast profile, thickness, board clearance, and foil positioning can all affect fitment.

FoilBoost offers one of the quickest and most user-friendly foil assist setups currently available, especially considering its price point. Installation is straightforward, the system is compact, and it delivers enough power for reliable assisted starts and short powered runs without the complexity of a full eFoil setup.
For riders looking to use FoilBoost primarily for surf foiling or wave access, board choice becomes important. We would recommend pairing the system with a wider FoilBoost-compatible trench-style board, as the squared battery profile can create additional drag or occasional catch during touchdowns if your pitch control is less refined.
Battery runtime is solid for a system of this size and purpose, making it practical for multiple sessions and repeated starts. Overall, FoilBoost feels like an exciting early step into a growing category of lightweight foil-assist products, and we are looking forward to seeing how the platform develops with future upgrades and refinements.
